Planning #10 Style Guide

Audience- Teen aged kids in south florida who are creative and like humor who want to know how food affects the community. The education bracket is that of an average high school English class, so not overly formal but not childish.

This gives room for my own creativity as well as freedom to cover different topics, like recipes, food and the culture or history of certain dishes.

Voice- Playful and nostalgic bringing out the joys of childhood in a funny approach.

Tone- humorous and whimsical while still educating and covering topics maturely not speaking down to them because of age or exclusively

Grammar-  Use capitalization when referring to names, stories, or quoting a work

Numbers are used when relying percentages referring to dates, more specifically years

Simpler sentences will be expressed throughout the feature articles with proper punctuation

Minimal to no abbreviations

Spelling- We will proofread and use spell check on google docs and word and if need be running it through grammarly to check unprofessionalism on spelling.

Jargon- Since we want to educate and approach our readers they don’t need to know any background information. Any unknown terms

Color- Use primary colors, if not solid dull but bright colors to represent our inspiration of retro and vintage flair.
